To reduce dependency on fossil fuels like kerosene and also prevent carbon emissions and health hazards posed due to inhalation of smoke from fossil fuel lamps in confined spaces.
To convert industrial and domestic lighting to use renewable energy for most of their lighting requirements, thus taking a considerable load off the power grid.
